Absolutely! We welcome skaters with any experience level. You won't be alone.
If you don’t have the availability to be a skater, reffing (referees) and NSOing (Non-Skating Officials) are awesome jobs and just as important to the success of the league! The Raptors will also never turn down recruits for the jeerleader squad.
Come check out a practice anyway! We may have some extra skates or gear you can borrow. We'll help you out however we can. The Raptors will also never turn away recruits for the jeerleader squad.

The Raptors are playing short track derby for the 2026 season. Check out our calendar page to see our schedule of practices and workshops. We will add official bouts to the calendar as they are scheduled, but for now we're working on growing the team and learning the game.
If you want to participate as a skater in workshops and bouts, yes. You will need to purchase WFTDA insurance in order to skate.
